Buenos Aires, February 2025 — Gran Dante Malbec 2021 was selected for the World’s Best Sommeliers’ Selection 2025, a prestigious recognition awarded by sommeliers from some of the world’s top restaurants featured on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list.

Unlike other international competitions, where tastings are blind, here sommeliers evaluate each label considering its origin, story, and pairing potential with haute cuisine. Only 123 wines worldwide were chosen in this edition, including 13 from Argentina—six of them Malbecs.

Crafted in Mendoza by Bodega Dante Robino, Gran Dante Malbec reflects the essence of the Los Chacayes terroir in the Uco Valley, and had already been awarded Best Malbec in the World at the International Wine Challenge. The 2021 vintage, marked by exceptional weather, allowed for optimal ripening and an elegant, complex expression. With intense aromas of fresh red fruits and violets and subtle oak notes, it is a wine with cellaring potential that can also be enjoyed now.

“That Gran Dante Malbec has been selected by the sommeliers of the world’s best restaurants fills us with pride and recognizes the quality and dedication we put into every stage of its production. After winning the award for Best Malbec in the World, continuing to receive accolades from wine experts reflects the outstanding work of the entire Bodega Dante Robino team,” said Inés Mastrogiacomo, Marketing Director at Bodega Dante Robino.

The only Argentine on the jury—comprising 32 sommeliers from around the world—was Pablo Rivero, owner of the renowned steakhouse Don Julio.

This new recognition solidifies Gran Dante Malbec’s position in fine dining and establishes it as a benchmark for Argentine Malbec on the global stage.
